Version
Size:
approx. 2-1/2" x 36" Materials: One 50 gm. ball Austermann Casca,
or similar eyelash yarn (approx. 60 yds.) (Lion Brand Fun Fur would be a
good substitute)
Size K hook
Row
1: With eyelash yarn and size K hook, chain 9. Sc in second ch from
hook and in each ch across (8 sts). Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in ea sc across (8 sts). Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in ea dc across (8 sts). Rep Rows 2 and 3 until scarf measures approx. 6",
ending with Row 3. Next row (keyhole): Ch 3, dc across 2 sc, ch 2,
skip 2 sc, dc across last 3 sc. Next row: Ch 1, sc across 3 dc, 2 sc in ch-2
space, sc across last 3 dc. Next row: Ch 3, dc across (8 sts). Next row: Ch 1, sc across (8 sts). Rep last 2 rows until scarf measures approx. 36"
ending with 1 row sc. Fasten off.
Shake
scarf gently to release eyelashes. To wear, insert one end of scarf
through keyhole.
Knit
Version
Size: approx. 3" x 36" Materials: One 50-gm. ball Austermann Casca, or similar eyelash yarn (approx. 60 yds.) (Lion Brand Fun Fur would be a good substitute)
Size 13 needles
With eyelash yarn and size 13 needles, CO 10 sts. Knit across. Work
in garter stitch (knit every row) throughout scarf. When scarf measures
approx. 6", work keyhole as follows: Knit across 4 sts, BO 2 sts, knit to
end of row. Next row: Knit 4, CO 2 (over bound-off sts), knit to end (10 sts). Next row: Knit across (10 sts). Continue in garter stitch until scarf
measures approx. 36". Bind off loosely. Shake scarf gently to release
eyelashes. To wear, insert one end of scarf through keyhole.
