Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

1/8" satin ribbon for flower - 10 yd. spool
Gauge: 4 double
crochet = 2" on size K hook
Terms/Abbreviations:
beginning (beg), chain (ch), double crochet (dc), half double
crochet (hdc), increase (inc), single crochet (sc), round (rnd),
slip stitch (sl st), space (sp)
Special stitches:
V-stitch Shell: work specified number of dc and ch as instructed.
Shells increase in size as capelet progresses.
Capelet
Foundation row: With size K hook, ch 69, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc
in ea ch across (68 sc). Join beginning of ch to end of ch to form
ring, being careful not to twist ch. Capelet is worked in the round
from this point on.
Rnd
1: Ch 2, hdc in ea sc around, join with sl st to beginning of round
(68 hdc)
Rnd
2: Ch 3, dc in ea hdc around, join with sl st (68 dc)
Rnd
3: Ch 4, dc in same st (V-stitch shell completed), dc in ea of next
3 dc, *V-st shell (dc-ch1-dc) in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, rep from
* around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4 (17 V-stitch shells)
Rnd 4:
Sl st into sp of first V-st shell, ch 5, dc in same sp (V-st shell
completed), dc in next 3 dc (NOTE: work the first dc of this 3-dc
group in the dc after the dc that forms the V-st shell on previous
round), *work (dc-ch2-dc) in sp of next V-st shell, dc in next 3 dc,
rep from * around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-5.
Rnd 5:
Sl st into sp of first V-st shell, ch 3, work (1 dc-ch3-2dc) in same
sp, dc in next 3 dc, *work (2dc-ch3-2dc) in sp of next V-st shell,
dc in next 3 dc, rep from * around, join with sl st.

6-10: Rep last rnd.
Rnd
11: Sl st into sp of first V-st shell, ch 3, work (2 dc-ch3-3dc) in
same sp, ch1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc (the center dc of the 3-dc
group on previous round), ch 1, skip 1 dc, *in sp of next V-st shell
work (3dc-ch3-3dc), ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip
next dc, rep from * around, join with sl st.

12: Sl st into sp of first V-st shell, ch 3, work (2 dc-ch3-3dc) in
same sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, *in sp of next V-st shell work
(3dc-ch3-3dc), ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, rep from * around, join
with sl st.

17: Sl st into ch-3 sp of first V-st shell, TURN, ch 3, work
(3dc-ch3-4dc) in same sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, *in sp of next
V-st shell work (4dc-ch3-4dc), ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, rep from *
around, join with sl st. Fasten off.

17: Sl st into ch-3 sp of first V-st shell, TURN, ch 3, work 6 dc in
same sp, ch 1, sc in next dc, ch 1, *in sp of next V-st shell work 7
dc, ch 1, sc in next dc, ch 1, rep from * around, join with sl st.
Fasten off.
Neck
edging: Turn capelet upside down and attach yarn in any st on
opposite side of beginning chain.
Rnd 1:
Ch 1, sc in ea sc around (68 sc)
Rnd 2:
Sl st LOOSELY in ea sc around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Ribbon
Flower:
Rnd 1:
With size F hook and 1/8" satin ribbon, leaving a 9" tail at
beginning (for tying to flower to capelet), ch 4, join into ring, ch
1, work 5 sc in ring.
Rnd 2:
Ch 5, sc in next sc, *ch 5, sc in next sc, rep from * around, join
with sl st (five ch-5 loops)
Rnd 3:
Sl st into first loop, work (sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc) all in same
loop, *in next loop work (sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc), rep from * around,
join with sl st. Leave a 9" tail, cut ribbon and fasten securely.
Finishing: Thread ends of ribbon a short distance apart from front
to back on upper portion of capelet, tie in a knot, then pull tails
of ribbon back through flower to front and tie ends in bow. Trim
ends to desired length.
